WCMS
The Waverly Chamber Music Series (WCMS) is a small nonprofit organization based in Waverly, Iowa whose mission is to "bring people together for the enjoyment of community and music by providing high-quality chamber music concerts for Waverly and the Cedar Valley. " The WCMS brings professional musicians to a rural Iowan community to perform outstanding chamber music performances in an intimate and community-centered environment.
As a member of the original steering committee, I led the creation of a mission statement for the organization, helped recruit board members, drafted articles of incorporation, handled all legal paperwork and processes, and successfully filed the necessary forms to become a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. As a board member, I was responsible for social media and all online advertising. I loved helping a dedicated group of musicians and music lovers come together to form an invaluable cultural organization in a community I care for.
